We checked out of our hotel after another lovely breakfast in Siem Reap. It was bittersweet as the experiences and hospitality were beyond expectations. We were transferred to the airport via vintage Mercedes by one of the hotel staff.

Arriving in Singapore was efficient and we were transferred via taxi along highways with the most beautiful landscaping we’ve seen.
Singapore is big, modern, sterile, and clean; there was some culture shock after the richness of the places we’ve been to in the last 2-1/2 weeks. We got to our room and quickly got out to see sights.
We did a recommended city walk that brought us to a number of the old colonial sights in the historic core.
After a bit we stopped to grab a snack along the Singapore River, as Patrick was hangry. Afterwards, we continued along to reach the Gardens by the Bay by daylight.

We enjoyed a walk in the gardens and then got lost in a mall (way too many of those here!, and car seems to be king). We finally found a place for drinks during sunset.

We then headed back to the Gardens for the light show.
Closing out our day were hawker delights which was fantastic and felt a bit like a scene from Crazy Rich Asians!
Another great day of discovery after several early mornings in Cambodia. We will be looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and discovering the Singapore National Gallery before heading off for an night flight back to San Francisco.
